COVID-19 Update 1.1

Dear Partner,

 

We would like to provide you with an operational update in light of the recent COVID-19 developments.

Because of the outbreak of the Coronavirus our carriers are taking additional measures for activities planned for above-ground engineers in the delivery and service domain. We are implementing further measures regarding their service and support in the upcoming challenging times. Please find a description below from our carriers.

 

 

Fiber & EoK deliveries

 

Delivery

 

  • Due to the Corona virus the capacity of engineers is slightly limited. Almost all scheduled deliveries for Fibers and DWDM nationwide are being delivered according to plan, exceptions are Onnet and EoK connections. Onnet fibers and EoK connections currently cannot be installed, they will be offered in phases to our planning department starting from week 14.
  • Carriers encounter situations in which engineers are refused access to customer sites or are not able to do their activities in a safe manner. In those cases, the engineer will leave the site.

 

 

Service

 

  • Disturbances with no connection are being handled. Disturbances with performance issues are currently not being handled. Service will be provided without a visit to the customer site, if possible.

 

 

Broadband deliveries

 

  • Tickets with no line-sync will be planned. Activities where there are performance issues will not be planned until further notice. 
  • Service tickets will be provided without a visit to the customer site, if possible. The customer will be called to check if services are working. If not, extra remote checks will be done and remote assistance will be offered.
  • Reparations in the underground domain of KPN will also be performed without visit to the customer site. For location where health services are located, special teams are available which take extra safety precautions.
  • For delivery this means that new applications will be planned in April. Current planned deliveries will be delivered according to plan. 
  • If there is a business-critical delivery please inform us at your earliest convenience so we can try and put this on a prioritized list.
